Be patient till the last.

Romans, countrymen, and lovers! hear me for my

cause, and be silent, that you may hear:

Amplification:

believe me

for mine honour, and have respect to mine honour, that

you may believe: censure me in your wisdom, and

awake your senses, that you may the better judge.

If there be any in this assembly, any dear friend of

Caesar’s, to him I say, that Brutus’ love to Caesar

was no less than his. If then that friend demand

why Brutus rose against Caesar, this is my answer:

–Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved

Rome more.

Rhetorical Question

Had you rather Caesar were living and

die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead, to live

all free men? As Caesar loved me, I weep for him;

as he was fortunate, I rejoice at it; as he was

valiant, I honour him: but, as he was ambitious, I

slew him. There is tears for his love; joy for his

fortune; honour for his valour; and death for his

ambition. Who is here so base that would be a

bondman? If any, speak; for him have I offended.

Appeal to Patriotism

Who is here so rude that would not be a Roman? If

any, speak; for him have I offended. Who is here so

vile that will not love his country? If any, speak;

for him have I offended. I pause for a reply.

————————————————————————-

Then none have I offended. I have done no more to
Caesar than you shall do to Brutus. The question of
his death is enrolled in the Capitol; his glory not
extenuated, wherein he was worthy, nor his offences
enforced, for which he suffered death.

Enter ANTONY and others, with CAESAR’s body

Here comes his body, mourned by Mark Antony: who,
though he had no hand in his death, shall receive
the benefit of his dying, a place in the
commonwealth; as which of you shall not? With this
I depart,–that, as I slew my best lover for the
good of Rome, I have the same dagger for myself,
when it shall please my country to need my death.

Attn: Caesar refuses crown at returning!!

•March 6, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Good news my fellow romans! As long awaited, Caesar has returned from  his victory. Today several hundreds of romans gathered along the streets to celebrate Caesar’s return. The crowd was ready for the great Antony to do the ceremonius city run. As he was preparing a great Soothsayer came and warned him about the Ides of March. Of course Caesar ignored as anyone would have. Furthermore, noone with as much prestige as Caesar needs to listen to some pshychotic soothsayer.

As the celebration proceeds, Brutus and Caesius stay behind to talk about Caesar and his future in Rome. Noone is  really sure of what they were talking about. An eavesdropper that chose not to be with the other Roman people in the ceremony, suspect that they were talking about Caesar and how they would rather not have him take the throne as king.

Meanwhile, Caesar was busy being offered the roman crown. Julius was offered the crown three times and therein refused it three times. Although the crowd did not know why he had refused they did not become restless. As he refused the crown, the crowd cheered louder and louder by the moment. Soon after the third refusal Caesar became ill with the falling sickness otherwise known as epilepsy and had a seizure before the entire crowd. Brutus and Caeisus were soon seen again wondering what had happened. It is speculated that they have plans for Caesar. We will soon find out.

What is with the party killers?!

Today I decided that i would take a day of in order to celebrate the returning of Caesar. Along with others, I cheered in the streets and partyed because we were so excited. Although, the party soon ended.  Guards came along and questioned us and soon enough told us to go home. They said we were hypocrites because only a short time ago we were celebrating Pompey and his achievements. I dont believe we are hypocrites though. I think we should Caesar conquering other nations and things. Those party killing guards though just had to ruin our fun. The one day we have an excuse to get off of work they have to come and ruin. I am severely upset right now.
